Purposes behind Country Music Gentrification
There are many reasons behind the gentrification of country music, the primary reason being a matter of making it more commercially successful. Putting more universal themes within the genre was one way of aiding popularity nationwide, as well as internationally. Country music has not only been affected by the gentrification within the genre, but also within the city of Nashville. Nashville, as the hub of country music, influences changes. Whenever Nashville changes, so does country music. It is important, however, to remember that gentrification has both positive and negative effects, as with any kind of social change.
